4 Bln People

Celll phones have become such an integral part of our lives that we can hardly imagine this is actually not the case in less developed parts of the world. Actually, the percentage of people who don´t have a cell phone is rapidly decreasing or that´s what a survey conducted by EITO (European Information Technology Observatory) reveals. Powermat wireless charger

Powermat wireless charger

Mobile Den thinks we may have just seen the future. We’ve just been privy to an exclusive demo of a new device called the Powermat. The said device enables up to four mobile phones to be charged at any one time without the need for plugging them in. Simply place them on the Powermat (which granted is plugged in itself) and watch your juice levels gets topped up. Although the impressively svelte mat is customised for the iPhone and BlackBerry devices, customers can also purchase the Powermat Powercube which comes with a host of tips that enables you to connect other handsets from the likes of Sony Ericsson, LG, Nokia and Samsung via mini USB. Could this really be the end of each handset having it’s own unique charger?

The risks you take when you buy from a less than experienced company for your Sony Ericson accessories requirements should be obvious but for many people they are not. There are many well documented cases of people buying form internet shop which claim to be supplier of quality Sony Ericson mobile accessories in which the customer has parted with their hard earned. A general rule of thumb is that if it seems too good to be true then it generally is, we would urge you to exercise caution when dealing with any internet shop whose prices seem very cheap in comparison to other providers, these products and services are cheap for a reason, a lack of quality.

Sony Ericsson Rachael – a different Android smartphone

Sony Ericsson Rachael

Sony Ericsson introduced its first smartphone, the P800 back in 2002, which now seems like ages ago. It utilized the Symbian UIQ OS that was to become the driving force behind the company´s smartphone range. Then the manufacturer introduced its first and still only device, powered by Windows Mobile in February 2008 – the Xperia X1. It featured an interesting and pleasing panel interface, but never managed to captivate consumers and make it big. Perhaps this is why Sony Ericsson has turned to other operating systems. We first saw the 12-megapixel Satio on  February 15 at the MWC 2009. Initially known as the ldou, the handset runs on the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS that also powers the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, with the only difference being that Sony Ericsson’s device comes with personalized interface. As of lately, the rumor has it that Sony Ericsson is planning an attempt at a device that will be running on the growingly popular Android OS, which brings us to the topic of the current article, the Sony Ericsson Rachael.

HTC Hero

So here it goes – the carrier customized version of the HTC Hero will be available in less than 24 hours to T-Mobile customers in the United Kingdom. In a message on Twitter the carrier team announced that the handset will appear in the online store from tomorrow with real stores following over the next few days.

The HTC Hero is best-equipped Android handset to date (until the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 shows up anyway) and will go by the name of T-Mobile G2 Touch. Pricing also sounds like a bargain if you are into signing a contract.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic to get kinetic scrolling, widgets

July 25th, 2009
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is getting a firmware update, which will introduce some new, quite welcome features – an enhanced homescreen, kinetic scrolling in some menus as well as improved camera performance and response time.

The enhanced homescreen will be like the one on N97, with all its contacts bar and widgets goodness. The kinetic scrolling update however is only partial at this stage – it will be applicable in the homescreen, the Contacts list and the web browser. The update is surely more than welcome but we cannot help but feel that it will make the UI on the 5800 even more inconsistent.
